WordPress Geolocation Plugin that helps a community: A case story
Ah So is always looking to make WordPress better. For most of our sites, we are constantly tweaking existing plugins that help our customers achieve their goals. However, after falling in love with food trucks in Nashville, we created and launched Food Trucks Nashville using a geolocation Twitter plugin we created.
The general idea on for the site and the ensuing WordPress plugin was for users to be able to find their favorite food truck in town. After all, if you can’t find the truck you are looking for, you’ll go crazy. Or, maybe that’s just us!
We’ve also been doing some research into how to use this technology for other businesses. Some of our nonprofit partners are using this technology to place the work they are doing around the world on a map and have their partners on the ground tweet about the process. Watching it show up live on a map is so cool and exciting!
