We met with the great folks at My Emma, a local email-marketing firm, to create a WordPress plugin, that combined the power of WordPress with the advanced features of their new API. This union provided My Emma clients with more efficient and effective email-marketing tool.
Initial Discovery Process:
Our main objective was to create a plugin that was easy to operate for Emma’s users. During our standard discovery process, we brainstormed with Emma employees and clients what features they use every day. During the course of four weeks, we determined the best way to implement the most used features into a WordPress plugin by testing the experience with both advanced and beginner local WordPress users. Our goal was to ensure all usability targets would be hit.
Development of the WordPress plugin:
Upon completion of our four-week test period, we acquired a better understanding of our user base. This allowed us the ability to draw backend design mockups and continue to test the plugin’s design. Once optimization of our design met our usability standards, development of the plugin began. After running into a few unexpected bugs and troubleshooting some documentation. During July 2012 , the new Emma API, version 1 of the plugin was submitted into the WordPress repository. The plugin is designed to be fully responsive and customizable using CSS, while easily linking up to the Emma user account. It is our goal to continue to improve this plugin. We hope you enjoy it!
